the bus leaves at midnight

today is our last day with fred, possibly the nicest man in the world. he has been teaching philosophy at NYU for 5o years! last night we took him to a bar so he could dance, which he loves to do because to nietzsche, it was an aimless activity and that's a good thing. i had bruised a rib the other day when i drunkenly fell against a wall in a sheep pasture...don't ask...and when we were dancing he twirled me around and i re-injured it. yes, i was injured while dancing with an 80 some year old nietzsche philosopher in switzerland. needless to say, i left the bar a little after midnite and fred was still there cutting a rug. i'm in a bit of pain today and am nervous about the 12 hour bus ride we will be starting tonite at midnite. the bus will drive all night and in the morning we will be in venice for the biennalle! whoo hoo! the weather will be hot and i feel like i don't have the right clothes but what the hell. i'm off to the pharmacy now to try to get some arnica pills.

Well thank goodness you didn't fall on any sheep! Ha.

Fred sounds like a hoot. I am so enjoying reading about your adventures.

The kids say, "Why is she cavorting with sheep when she has us?" You'll have to explain it to them when you get home. Wish we could see the film done in Kazikstan. Mom, Cowboy, Ursa, and Baby Otto

Hi Gretchen. Just read your blogs. My impression is "intense". Glad to know you are embracing the moment! Miss your company. No rain in Rochester.
Love to you, Jennifer
